I gave this the title "surprise" in memory of my grandad pranking me. I didn't see him but he had seen me and jumped out at me. I screamed in both laughter and surprise. Completely making my day. I wanted this piece to give the feeling of fun. I was happy to remember and happy to paint. Everything about this piece and the many others in this collection are intuative, without reference or expectation.
